London Fog by creepyfish London Fog by creepyfish
Something I did as a personal project since I haven't been getting a lot of assignments for stand alone illustrations this semester and it's been frustrating !!

This is a representation of my favorite drink, London Fog (for those who don't know, it's basically an earl grey tea latte.)

Considering doing more of these for other drinks. If I have time...?

This painting has inspired me to start learning watercolors :) I'd been thinking about it for a long time, but seeing this made me really want to learn.

Ahhh I just love these colours *-* How all these colours blend so nicely, how do you do that? Do you wet the paper first before applying colour? Sorry I'm still a watercolour n00b and I just can't seem to figure it out haha xD

it's kind of hard for me to explain my process because it's more or less intuitive at this point! The secret to watercolor is lots and lots of layers, and knowing the right water-to-pigment ratio whenever you're applying color. I'll wet the paper in a certain area if I want the color to be lighter and more spread out.

Haha, I understand that, I was just wondering :) The problem with my watercolours is that when I apply new layers the edge of the painted area (I don't really know how to explain better) gets this hard edge, a hard line that isn't really visible until it's dried up and I think it's really ugly :P But for some reason I can't prevent it, so that's what I was wondering about! I don't see these edges in your paintings, so I was hoping you'd know how to prevent them :)

You can actually make those go away by taking just water on your brush and gently scrubbing at the edges, and then dabbing at the water at the edge with a paper towel till the area is dry. That should soften them up!

If you have a starbucks near you, you can actually ask for one there!
or you can just make some earl grey tea and steam some milk and add a bit of vanilla syrup.

Ohh, I think theres sill one by the airport that exists to lull visters into a false sense of security that Ireland is actually a nice place... & then they leave the airport with it's chance to escape & are sorely disappointed by rain, so much rain, & no lovely warm drinks to warm them up after being in said rain :XD:

Wow. Just, wow. :O Gorgeous, smooth colouring; it all rather reminds me of the beautifully designed adverts from days gone by.

I agree. I could be used for a video game, like Child of Light, or Drawn the Painted Tower.
